I'm still in Cali, working on packing up the rig and getting rid of the extraneous. I plan on heading out sometime soon but haven't nailed down an exact date of departure yet. I have until the end of the month and I don't have a house/trailer/tent/anything in the Ozark woods yet, so needless to say I'm not in a great rush.
The main plan right now is two fold; First, Id like to see my land. Yes, I bought it on eBay and no, I haven't seen it yet. Second, I'm going to hook up with my dad in St. Louis and start planning some sort of future that will undoubtedly involve shovels and axes. I'm very OK with that. I am hoping to have a garage built to store supplies and materials within a month or two. It might double as my house for a while too until I get something built. I need ideas on what to build.. Earth berm? Tipi? Cabin? Rammed Earth?
I'm going to try my best to keep this updated daily so you can laugh at me from the comfort and safety of your pj's. I must admit however that I am really excited to be getting back to the mid west. I miss a lot of people that this move should give me a chance to visit after many many years. And by visit I mean drag you people to my property and make you help me build something awesome.
Finally I'm going to be putting in a call for supplies. I am going to try to build almost everything out of re-claimed materials or recycled stuff. One of my next posts will be an actual list and if you are nearby and within driving distance I will come pick stuff up!! Or you can bring it down when you come to visit. Camping is free and we will do our best to accommodate anyone who wants to stay longer to help with construction.
